Custom Helmet Creation Gets Patient on Field
Bennett, a 15-year-old patient with spina bifida and hydrocephalus, was presented with a custom-fit baseball helmet created by our orthotics, prosthetics, and seating experts and scored the honorary first run at a recent Twins game.

Patients Celebrate Superhero Day
Our St. Paul campus hosted a superhero event in partnership with the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Department/SWAT and the St. Paul Fire Department. The fun began with a parade featuring emergency responder vehicles zooming down University Avenue under the Gillette skyway. The costumed superheroes also rappelled down a parking ramp, stopped by patient rooms, and offered tours of emergency responder vehicles.
Motorcyclists Participate in Flood Run
Thousands of riders participated in the 59th annual Flood Run motorcycle ride to support Gillette Children’s.

Welder Leaves $1 Million to Gillette
A retired St. Paul welder left nearly $1 million to Gillette Children’s in his will. His donation will help fund the new St. Paul Campus Specialty Center.
Gillette Participates in Women in Science Exhibit
The Bakken Museum hosted a Women in Science event recently where children could take part in scientific activities to encourage young people to venture into STEM career fields. Gillette Children’s had a booth and sponsored the event.
