"Earning the Advanced Pediatric Spine Certification demonstrates Gillette's commitment to providing exceptional, high quality spine care,” Guillaume said. “It also recognizes our unique ability to provide personalized and customized patient care not found elsewhere.”

As one of the nation's largest and earliest providers of pediatric spine care, Gillette Children’s brings patients care informed by over 125 years of clinical excellence, research and health education.

Gillette provides expert treatment for spine conditions from scoliosis and kyphosis to spondylolysis and spondylolisthesis and beyond. Some of these conditions have onset at birth and others develop during childhood and adolescence. This expertise is not limited to patients living in Minnesota. In the past five years, the Gillette Children’s Spine Institute has served patients from 15 states and 4 countries. It conducts nearly 300 spine surgeries every year and has more than 4,000 clinical visits.

To achieve DNV certification, Gillette Children's Spine Institute demonstrated exemplary workflows, policies, protocols, program-level data, multidisciplinary processes, and evidence-based practices with DNV. The certification ensures that the organization has a robust quality management system to support process improvement, clinical excellence and patient-centered care, said Kelly Proctor, President of DNV Healthcare USA Inc.

“Achieving Advanced Pediatric Spine Certification demonstrates a commitment to excellence,” Proctor said. “It helps demonstrate to your community that you are performing at the highest level.”

Gillette Children’s Spine Institute is leading a transformative shift to personalized spine care. The Insitute providers work with patients and their families to create their own story by considering each child’s unique circumstances, aspirations and preferences in their assessment and treatment plan.
