Gillette Children’s announced Andrea Stoesz as Director of External Affairs. In that role, Stoesz focuses on advancing patient advocacy initiatives, working on federal policies for kids who have complex medical conditions, rare diseases and traumatic injuries and Gillette’s community engagement efforts.
Stoesz moves into the new role from her previous position as Clinical Initiatives Specialist at Gillette Children’s.
“Gillette has a long and rich history of advocating for patients and families with complex medical conditions, rare diseases and traumatic injuries and helping them realize their full potential,” Stoesz said. “I’m looking forward to continue this legacy by engaging with our community and government partners.”
Stoesz has worked in a variety of roles in the policy and healthcare space. She started her career working for Sen. Amy Klobuchar. She then went to graduate school at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health and earned a Master of Public Health in Infectious Disease. After graduating, she researched antibiotic use and antibiotic resistance at The Pew Charitable Trusts in Washington D.C. She then moved to the Minnesota Medical Association as a Policy Analyst where she oversaw issues related to healthcare finance, economics and quality improvement.
