This past December, Gillette Children’s Healthcare Press celebrated the launch of the first five titles in the Gillette Children's Healthcare Series:

Members of Gillette leadership and the Healthcare Series writing team pose with the new series. From left: Lily Collison, Dr. Novacheck, Jazmin Welch, Olwyn Roche, Ruth Wilson, Cheryl Tveit, Paula Montgomery, Michaela Hingtgen, and Liz Boyer
More than 100 people gathered at the St. Paul Campus Welcome Center for the event, including authors, editors, families, and Gillette staff and partners. Speakers included members of the Gillette executive team, Gillette Press team, authors, and families who contributed their lived experiences.
The Healthcare Series provides in-depth understanding of conditions treated at the hospital. Mac Keith Press, long-time publisher of books on disability and the journal Developmental Medicine and Child Neurology, is co-publishing this series with Gillette Press.
The newly published titles will be followed by:
Epilepsy
Spina Bifida
Nonidiopathic Scoliosis: congenital, neuromuscular, syndromic, and other types
Osteogenesis Imperfecta
The Healthcare Series seeks to optimize outcomes for those who live with childhood-acquired physical and/or neurological conditions. The conditions addressed in this series of books are complex and often have many associated challenges. Although the books focus on the biomedical aspects of each condition, they endeavor to address each condition as holistically as possible. Since the majority of people with these conditions have them for life, the life course is addressed including transition and aging issues.
These books are invaluable not only for families but also for healthcare professionals, researchers, educators, and students. The books are now available for purchase at a discounted rate at the St. Paul Campus Guest Services desk, along with other titles from Gillette Press. You can also purchase online.
