The Midwest Rett Syndrome Foundation (MRSF) welcomes families and caregivers for a day of learning and networking. We have real treatments coming to help our children!

This full day of adult conversation will focus on research updates and local opportunities to get the most out of our Center of Excellence at Gillette Children’s.

There will be information tables, giveaways and special introductions throughout the day!

10:30 - 11:15 – Gillette - Rett Clinic and Research Update (Dr. Beisang, Gillette)
11:15 - 11:45 – Sibling Panel - Hear from the siblings of our Rett Community about their experiences and perspectives. This session will include a Q&A time. (TBD)

  • ABLE Accounts – ABLE Basics for 2025: An overview of how ABLE accounts help individuals with disabilities save and invest money without affecting benefits. Topics include financial stability, eligibility, contribution limits, and qualified expenses. (Laurie Schaller, National Disability Institute)
  • Music Therapy – An introduction to music therapy and its potential benefits for individuals with Rett. (Dayna Nelson, Toneworks Therapeutic Learning Center)
  • Rett University – A brief overview of communication and learning possibilities for individuals with Rett Syndrome, along with ways Rett University supports families and schools. (Susan H. Norwell, Co-Founder, Rett University)

  • Hippotherapy – An exploration of hippotherapy and its benefits for individuals with Rett Syndrome. (Kelly Peterson, Acorn Hill EAAT, Inc.)
  • Full-Time Caregivers Open Discussion – A dedicated discussion for full-time caregivers of individuals with Rett. A space for connection, support, and tip-sharing. (Sami Morris, MWRSF Board Member, Full-Time Caregiver, Former Early-Educator)
  • Adult Medical Care – A session focused on medical care for individuals with Rett Syndrome as they transition into adulthood. (Dr. Beisang, Gillette)
