A new study aims to understand postoperative pain in children who have cerebral palsy.

Dr. Marcie Ward’s goal is to guide cerebral palsy care at the Institute to address not just the needs, but the aspirations of the patients and their families. For some patients, that means community activities like adaptive water skiing would be embedded into their care plan.

Gillette Children’s has named orthopedic surgeon and Medical Director of Integrated Care Services Tom Novacheck, MD, as the chair of its Cerebral Palsy Institute.

The Cerebral Palsy Institute knowledge translation team aims to implement discoveries and advancements in the care of cerebral palsy, informing clinical practice, program development, and public health policy.
