Research Administration

Our Mission

Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare has a long and rich tradition of conducting nationally recognized research.  Members of our staff have been leading contributors to progress in the treatment of children and young adults with disabilities.  In 1998, Gillette established a Research Department to assist clinicians and professional staff in expanding future research at Gillette.  Our goals include:

  • Be a leading source of research related to children and young adults with disabilities
  • Discover new methods for collecting information on the health-related outcomes of patient care, treatment modalities, functional results and patient satisfaction.
  • Continue to enhance the education of medical professionals.

Major areas of interest include cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, brain injury, spinal disorders and gait analysis.

Our Vision

Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare will be recognized as a leader in clinical research for the populations we serve in order to promote and maintain high-quality patient care, recruit and retain outstanding clinical care providers, and enhance Gillette's reputation in the medical community.

Rationale:

Gillette is uniquely situated to do clinical research because of its concentrated population of individuals with disabilities.  Federally, the inclusion of children and their conditions in research is a priority.  This provides both an opportunity and an obligation.
